Introduction to the Detoxification Process

Detoxification is one of the most important aspects of modern medicine. It’s no secret that we live with toxicity: It’s in our water, food, air, products we apply, indoor air, toxins microorganisms create inside and outside our body, heavy metals in our food and pipes, etc.

We can reduce our exposure, but at this point, we only have so much control over our daily exposure. Our best defense now is to work to eliminate the toxins that collect in our body. We employ effective and evidenced-based natural methods that help bind and eliminate toxins and metals and reduce harm on their way out.

Why Detox?

Toxins, chemicals, pollutants, and heavy metals disrupt the function of our bodily systems. For example, many chemicals are “endocrine disruptors or neurotoxic.” The more you collect in your body, the more damage. The longer they are in your body, the more damage they cause.

The bottom line is we need to get them out as soon as possible. The process of removing toxic material from the body is termed detoxification. It’s a solid step in getting back your best true self.

How Detoxification Benefits You

I’ve been treating patients for 15 years. Medicine and medical intervention have changed. Remedies I used to be able to use to help correct dysfunction have become less effective over time. The medicine isn’t necessarily changing, but the organic beings I am treating are.

The modern patient is more toxic, more dysregulated, and overall less vital. Patients are full of mycotoxins, pathogenic bacteria, viruses, parasites, heavy metals, medication, and inflammation, on top of being malnourished. I’ve become more curious about finding causation and more creative in treating what I detect.

A nuHealth Story

There is no doctor I trust more than Dr. Neale. I came to her after trying so many other doctors, and she was the only one who truly listened and helped. I am so grateful to her and to her lovely assistant!

How Can We Help?

The first step in detoxification is identifying what specific toxins, heavy metals, environmental pollutants, or chemicals are in your body. Specialty diagnostics testing is an option. Knowing which toxins are in your body can help your doctor use targeted remedies to remove them. You can use follow-up testing to ensure the efficacy of treatment.

The Four Phases of Detoxification

  • Phase I: Reduce exposure. Patient education. How-to and resources provided.
  • Phase II: Nature cure emunction (elimination). I.e., sauna and cold plunge, hydration, salt soaks, castor oil packs, steaming, hydrotherapy, juicing, toxin/inflammatory food and drink removal, etc.
  • Phase III: Pushers and binders, mucosal membrane support, and free radical sequestration to reduce damage from reactive oxygen species. Here, we activate the “pushing out” of stored-away toxins with specific remedies. Then, we must bind what gets liberated to complete removal and reduce Herxheimer reactions (temporary aggravations from liberated toxins). Meanwhile, we work to restore function to mucosal membranes and tissue.
  • Phase IV: Targeted remedies to remove specific metals or toxins or to target particular mycotoxins.
