Tides of Change?
Being an alternative medicine practitioner I sometimes reflect upon what I am considered to be alternative to? Alternative, the word, suggests a practice that is unconventional, a challenge to traditional norms. So what are the traditional, or generational, norms of healing the sick? Being pharmaceutical drugs are a relatively young intervention compared to 1000s-of-years-old generationally cultivated natural interventions, one could argue that drugs fit the definition of alternative medicine – better. That being said, I wonder, who really is the alternative medicine practitioner?
